Hashcats: Understand ETH Rent and HASH Rewards
Hashcats combines browser proof of work with paid NFT minting on Robinhood Chain. A living cat can receive ETH rent funded by mints in later epochs. Optional staking adds a share of HASH and ETH that other protocol activity supplies. These are variable protocol rewards, not a free token allocation or guaranteed return.
Hashcats stores its artwork, traits and rendering logic onchain. A valid mining solution creates the opportunity to mint at the current epoch price, plus gas. At our September 22 check, the official documentation displayed an entry price of 0.16368 ETH; prices and difficulty can change before you act. Mining also uses your device’s computing resources and electricity.
How the rewards work
For standard mints, the docs allocate 70% of the entry price to eligible earlier cats and 30% to a protocol hook. Cats do not earn rent from other mints in their own epoch. Unclaimed rent follows the NFT when it is sold, so a sale can transfer that claim to its new owner.
Staking terms are 7, 30 or 90 days, with respective base weights of 1x, 2x and 4x. Status can increase weight. The current reward sources are HASH spent on status and ETH left behind by early reward claims. There is no early NFT withdrawal. Claiming rewards or rent during a live stake can incur a split, so review the current claim terms before locking a cat.
Burning permanently destroys a cat in exchange for HASH at a rate that declines as later epochs pass. The docs describe 1,000 HASH for a cat burned in its own epoch, subject to a minimum ten-minute wait and at least one newer cat existing. That amount is not a dollar value. Token and NFT prices can fall, liquidity may be limited, and protocol activity may slow.
Step-by-Step Guide to Hashcats
- Read the current rules. Start with the official Hashcats documentation. Check the live entry price, network, contracts and reward rules. This guide does not independently audit the contracts or browser miner.
- Review the mining page. Visit Hashcats Mine. If you independently decide to participate, confirm your wallet is on Robinhood Chain and review CPU/GPU use. Finding a valid solution still requires paying the epoch mint price and gas. A competing mint or expired block anchor can invalidate a solution.
- Understand rent before transferring. Review your cat in the collection and check protocol statistics. Rent is funded by later-epoch activity, and unclaimed rent transfers with the NFT if you sell it.
- Compare optional staking terms. On Hashcats Stake, inspect the 7-, 30- and 90-day terms, current reward sources and early-claim split. Claim any rent you intend to retain before staking. Do not lock a cat unless you accept having no early NFT withdrawal.
- Treat burning as a permanent exit. Consult the HASH economics page and current burn quote before considering a burn. It removes the NFT and its future utility. Review trading fees too; the docs describe a standing 5% hook fee on each side of a HASH trade.
What to check before committing funds
Rewards depend on other participants’ activity and do not promise recovery of minting costs. Contracts, custody, wallet approvals, NFT liquidity and token price all introduce risk. Our research verified the published mechanics but did not execute a wallet connection, mine, mint, stake, claim, trade or burn, and did not establish an independent security audit.
