Polyester Testnet: Daily Paper Assets, Cross-Chain Trading
Polyester’s public testnet lets you practice spot trading and explore deposits and withdrawals across supported test networks. Daily Paper Assets provide a recurring practice balance. The current opportunity is to learn the exchange and contribute feedback before mainnet, without funding your test account with real money.
Paper Assets have no monetary value. The listing also advertises planned trading competitions, giveaways and community promotions, but we did not find a live prize pool, payout schedule or guaranteed cash reward in the official documentation reviewed. A potential $P distribution has no announced allocation or eligibility rules in the source guide. Do not treat practice balances or testnet participation as an entitlement to tokens.
About Polyester
Polyester is a decentralized exchange built on its own EVM-compatible Layer 1. Its official introduction describes a shared venue for assets arriving from chains such as Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana. Equivalent versions of an asset can share one trading balance, while each trading pair retains its own order book.
The system combines PolyEngine for matching trades with Zipper for cross-chain asset movement. Deposits create route-specific, 1:1-backed representations on Polyester Chain. Funding balances and asset movements are visible onchain, while individual trading balances and orders remain private to the account. These are the project’s described mechanics, not an independent security audit.
Two kinds of test funds
Paper Assets are issued by the Polyester team for practice trading. External testnet assets come from a supported network’s own faucets and let you test the deposit integration. The official faucet directory lists networks and their requirements. Availability changes, and third-party faucets control their own distribution.
The official FAQ says both X and Discord must be connected to claim daily Paper Assets. You can use supported external testnet assets without those social connections. This differs from the source guide’s suggestion that either social account is sufficient; follow the current official claim flow.
Step-by-Step Guide to the Polyester Testnet
- Open the official testnet. Visit Polyester Testnet and review the eligibility terms before creating an account.
- Choose your sign-in method. Use a dedicated supported wallet, Google or email. The account guide explains that Google and email create an embedded owner wallet. Keep using the same identity to return to the same account.
- Protect your access. Follow the security guide to add a passkey or authenticator and keep recovery details private.
- Claim practice funds. Connect both X and Discord if you want daily Paper Assets, then use the dashboard claim prompt. Check the displayed countdown before returning.
- Try the trading tools. Explore a spot market, compare market and limit orders, and review whether your order filled. Advanced options include TWAP, ladder and trailing-stop orders; understand the controls before using them.
- Test external routes if useful. Obtain only testnet assets from the official faucet directory, select the matching asset and network in Deposit, and follow the displayed instructions. Explore a supported withdrawal route and record what happened.
- Share useful feedback. Use the in-app support tool for bug reports. Include steps, time and relevant transaction details, while keeping recovery phrases and verification codes out of the report.
Allow about 15-25 minutes for initial setup and a practice trade, with additional time for external faucets or daily activity. This is an editorial estimate. We reviewed documentation but did not create an account, connect a wallet, claim assets, trade or test a payout. Use testnet assets only.
Learn & Earn: What Is a Cross-Chain DEX?
A decentralized exchange lets you trade through a crypto protocol rather than a conventional brokerage account. Uniswap, Curve and PancakeSwap are familiar examples. A cross-chain exchange adds routes between blockchains, so supported assets can reach the same trading venue. That convenience still depends on the contracts, asset backing and withdrawal routes working as intended.
Why it matters: Polyester uses Zipper to represent deposited assets on its own chain, then combines compatible versions into a unified balance. Its testnet gives you a way to explore that design with practice assets before considering real-money activity. The official Key Concepts guide explains the asset journey.
