Ratehopper AI: Put Your Base DeFi Strategy to Work
Ratehopper AI is running Range Hunter, a Base competition for users who mint self-repaying LP Agents and compete for ETH rewards. This is not a free social-task drop: participating can require ETH collateral, liquidity-provider exposure, and an understanding of liquidation and smart-contract risk. The current season, reward pool, and entry rules can change, so check the app before committing funds.
Ratehopper’s agent is designed to manage Uniswap V3 liquidity positions and a loan position on Base. You deposit ETH into a Safe, the protocol uses that collateral to borrow USDC, and the agent manages LP ranges, monitors conditions, and applies earned LP fees toward the debt. Ratehopper says its native ROO token can be staked for rewards, referral benefits, and fee-free Range Hunter access.
Range Hunter ranks each minted agent by Time-To-Repay during a 10-day scoring window. You can stake 100,000 ROO for fee-free deployment or use the paid route described in the app. Historical backtests are not guarantees, and automated strategies can still lose money, so consider this an advanced DeFi opportunity rather than a guaranteed airdrop.
Step-by-Step Guide for Ratehopper AI
- Open the Ratehopper app and connect an EVM wallet set to Base. Sign the wallet message to authenticate.
- Review the app first. Check Live Agents, Data, Simulator, Competition, Leaderboard, and Stake so you understand the LP exposure, borrowing, and repayment mechanics before minting.
- Fund your Base wallet if needed. You may need ETH on Base for collateral, fees, and gas. Only bridge or deposit funds you can afford to place at risk.
- Mint an LP Agent from the dashboard and select an agent personality. Ratehopper lists Plus as the more capital-preservation-focused option and Max as the more aggressive option.
- Choose your entry route. Stake 100,000 ROO for fee-free deployment or review the app’s paid option, currently described as 0.06 ETH including 0.05 ETH collateral and 0.01 ETH for entry, gas, and the prize pool.
- Track the 10-day Range Hunter window in the Ratehopper app. Monitor the leaderboard, agent performance, and current campaign terms rather than assuming a reward.
